Daily coordinator of HSE aspects of making and selling CT's product lines, acting as a the contact person for questions and doubts related to labeling, handling or other similar issues
Constant review of existing regulations. This includes informing CTCH's management team on upcoming changes of regulations on a timely basis, coordinate actions for CTCH to take in time to always keep CTCH in compliance
Get updates on new regulations and how this will affect CTCH's operations. This includes (but not limited to) changes in labeling, use of certain chemicals, storage of chemical products, use of personal protective equipment, ventilation and control of emissions, waste storage and disposal, use of forklifts and so on.
Coordinate regulatory support to products (raw materials and finished goods) to be imported to assure that only authorized/listed products are brought into China.
Respond to customer inquiries when there are regulatory or HSE questions about usage, storage, handling and disposal of CTCH's products.
Provide training to all CTCH employees on safe handling of our raw materials products (especially solvent-based products), use of personal protective equipment and waste handling, and other HSE related topics
Assure that the disposal of waste material (waste water, waste solvent, empty containers, other industrial residues) are disposed of properly and according to the required laws.
Prepare and file HSE reports required by law (for example, quantities stored on site, emissions and so on).
Assist the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) whenever new equipment needs to be installed.
Keep constant contact with the respective regulatory bureaus to provide easy access to information whenever necessary and to maintain a good relationship with the authorities.
Maintain good relationship and cooperation with KL's HSE personnel
Perform site HSE inspections and coordinate corrective actions for the identified items
Coordinate the OHSAS 18001 and ISO-14001 parts of the certifications

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

HSE experience on chemical industry, including production, project, logistics (imports and exports) and so on
Familiar with regulations and standards on chemicals
Excellent communication skills at all levels (for example, the job holder must be able to communicate well with different audiences like plant floor employees and government officials)
Good knowledge of English, written and spoken
Degree in Chemical Engineering or other related technical area.
Certification as "Safety Engineer" would be a plus to the position
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the chemical/petrochemical industry

The Qingpu District, shaped into land in 5,000 B.C. and inhabited by its ancestors 6,000 years ago, boasts a long history. The ancestors labored and lived on this land, giving birth to a gorgeous civilization. Qingpu is the earliest human habitat in Shanghai thanks to the Songze Culture, a typical ancient culture during the Neolithic Period in the Taihu Lake area. Qingpu County, established in 1542, the 21st year of Emperor Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty, was revoked on 16 September 1999 when the Qingpu District was set up upon approval by the State Council, with the administrative division unchanged. The Qingpu People’s Government of Shanghai Municipality was founded in due form on 12 January 2000.

Location - Qingpu, located at east longitudes from 120°53' to 121°17' and north latitudes from 30°59' to 31°16', lies in the western suburbs of Shanghai, the lower reaches of the Taihu Lake and the upper reaches of the Huangpu River. It adjoins Minhang District on the east and borders Songjiang District and Jinshan District of Shanghai as well as Jiashan County of Zhejiang Province to the south. It borders Wujiang and Kunshan of Jiangsu Province in the west and is connected with Jiading District on the north.

Area - The total area of Qingpu is 669.77 km2, or one-tenth the total of Shanghai. Among them, the water area is 124.49 km2, or 18.6% of the district’s total. In Qingpu lies the largest freshwater lake in Shanghai, the Dianshan Lake, crossing the Qingpu District of Shanghai and Kunshan of Zhejiang Province, with a total area of about 62 km2, among which 75.3% or 46.7 km2are in Qingpu.

Topography - Like a butterfly, Qingpu District, with wide terrain in its east and west wings, is narrow in the central area. The land is flat at an altitude of 2.8 - 3.5 meters.

Climate - Mild and humid, Qingpu belongs to the northern subtropical monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons, abundant sunshine, ample rainfall and long frost-free period. In 2006, the average temperature was 17.6°C. The mean temperature in January was the lowest at about 5.6°C, while that in August is the highest at about 29.8°C.
