Job Purpose:

  • To support Thailand sales office through:
    • Management of the Japanese Accounts,
    • Recommendation of products and technology in accordance with the market needs.
  • To conduct sales and market development in Chem-Trend Thailand, with responsibility on sales and profit objectives.

Key Result Areas:

  • Recommend short and long-term product and technology strategies for Japanese transplants in Thailand.
  • Identify industry technical trends, innovations, market surveillance, and competitive activity of the Japanese market and report to superior.
  • Develop positive relationships with the Japanese decision-makers and work with local Sales Representatives in developing similar relationships.
  • Identify sales opportunities and selectively deploy, and develop, the appropriate resources to advance the value added sales approach.
  • Maintain and grow a chemical-specialty problem-solving sales approach towards all Japanese transplant accounts that puts emphasis on superior products and excellent service.
  • Initiate products upgrade and price revisions for low margin products, and support current and potential Japanese customers through running trials.
  • Ensure global product naming policy is implemented in accordance with the requirements in the market.
  • Look after Chem-Trend’s interests in the Thailand market. This includes managing and supporting existing distributors.
  • Maximize the trading profit and growth of Chem-Trend by meeting or exceeding sales objectives. Responsible for direct sales to key accounts and support Chem-Trend’s Financial Objectives established for all Japanese transplant accounts.
  • Provide feedback to the M&T group to ensure that products are formulated to achieve success with Japanese transplants.
  • Act as advisor and interpreter to the Chem-Trend management group and sales representatives that interface with Japanese transplant accounts.

Work Location:

The Manager supports all Thailand sales and marketing activities and will operate from Chem-Trend’s office in Thailand.

Problem-Solving/Complexity:

Assessing various customer needs and appropriately directing Chem-Trend’s resources (i.e., laboratories, quality control, manufacturing, sales, customer service, technical service) to effectively and efficiently meet or exceed customer demands.

Problems and opportunities arise on a daily basis, which require an expedient response. Often there is little or no time for in-depth analysis and weighing of options. When time does permit in-depth analyses of changes in the market place or competitive environment, decisions are made which have a substantial effect on the future of die casting business.

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent.
  • At least five years of working experience in technical service, sales & marketing, management, manufacturing and/or plant management preferably in a die casting industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Japanese business markets and culture is essential.
  • Good command of Japanese language as well as ability to speak, writes, and thoroughly comprehends English language.
  • Commercially astute, and demonstrate commercial acumen and interpersonal savvy.
