Chem-Trend Launches Additions to Mono-Lube® 3000 Series for Tire Industry

New high performance inside tire paints result in fewer defects

Howell, Mich., August 6, 2009 – Chem-Trend, a global manufacturer of release agents and other process chemical specialties, announced today that it has launched an additional family of products in its Mono-Lube® 3000 series. The new, water-based inside tire paints are created from a unique blend of raw materials developed through Chem-Trend’s advanced R & D process.

 The carefully balanced ratios of these ingredients enable customers to reduce coating weights by approximately 30 percent compared to conventional filled inside tire paints, resulting in significant savings. The unique chemistry also contributes to fewer inside tire paint-related manufacturing defects and a significantly increased curing bladder life.

The products, which are spray applied, provide good slip and air bleed in the curing process – particularly advantageous for makers of run-flat and Ultra High Performance tires. The lower coat weights also help provide an enhanced finished tire appearance, highly desirable for premium tires.

The new family of products adds to the already extensive Mono-Lube® range, with each product developed in cooperation with the customer’s specific process improvement needs. The additional family joins Chem-Trend’s full line of products for the tire industry that also includes outside tire paints, tire curing bladder treatments and Mono-Coat® brand tire mold treatments.
