Chem-Trend Promotes System Approach to Improve Resin Transfer Molding Release
System-based approach best for rapidly expanding Resin Transfer Molding process, company says system to be exhibited at Composites 2010
Howell, Mich., Dec. 8. 2009 - Chem-Trend, a global manufacturer of release agents and other process chemical specialties, is promoting its system-based approach to provide cleaner release and to prevent mold scumming in the Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) process. Scumming is a major quality challenge facing the fast-growing use of this process, according to Chem-Trend. Its system-based approach is a first for the RTM process, and was engineered specifically for the industry. Chem-Trend will have information about the system at its booth, #933, at the American Composites Manufacturing Association’s “Composites 2010,” February 9 – 11, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. The system will also be demonstrated elsewhere at the conference.
The Chemlease® RTM System comprises a cleaner, primer, sealer and top coat, all designed to work to maximum efficiency when used together. System components are easily applied.
Chem-Trend’s innovative approach to addressing the RTM process challenges stems from its core philosophy of creating purpose designed products based on customer needs, and its goal of increasing customer efficiencies through keeping molds in production for extended periods. The Chemlease® RTM System provides excellent release while preserving a very clean mold surface.
