Chem-Trend’s Commitment to R & D Results in Rapid Development of Lusin® Brand Products for Thermoplastic Industry

Latest additions to Lusin® brand demonstrates Chem-Trend’s commitment to process improvement through mutually beneficial collaboration with their customers

HOWELL, Mich., May 7, 2009 – Chem-Trend, a global manufacturer of release agents and other process chemical specialties, announced today that it has developed several new Lusin® (pronounced Loo-SEEN) brand products to address production challenges faced by its customers in the Thermoplastic industry. Recently introduced Lusin® brand products include Lusin® Clean G410, Lusin® Clean G315, and Lusin® Protect G31. The Lusin® brand is available in all global areas served by Chem-Trend and its network of distribution partners.

Recently introduced Lusin® brand products include:

Lusin® Clean G410
A purging compound, Lusin® Clean G410 is formulated to operate at high temperatures, ranging from 300˚ C - 415˚ C, and is compatible with PPO, PEEK, PPS, PSU and LCP materials. It is the first purging compound designed specifically to perform at these demanding high temperatures.  Lusin® Clean G410 facilitates quick color change using a minimal amount of material, reducing color changeover time by up to 90 percent and reducing scrap from 50 – 90 percent.

Lusin® Clean G315
Lusin® Clean G315 is a purging compound designed to operate most effectively with Polyolefins. Chemically compatible with the compounds that it is designed to purge, Lusin® Clean G315 operates at temperatures in the range of 180˚ C - 315˚ C, which are similar to the material processing temperatures. Color changeover time is greatly reduced, with minimal scrap rates, contributing to increased production for manufactures.

Lusin® Protect G31
Designed for the Mold Making and Plastic Production Machinery markets, Lusin® Protect G31 is, as the name implies, a protectant within Chem-Trend’s mold maintenance product line. The first product of its kind, Lusin® Protect G31 is unique in the industry due to its dry, non-tacky finish when applied. It is especially effective in areas where high humidity could contribute to mold and machine part corrosion, and has been proven through use in markets such as Thailand, where extreme humidity and airborne salt is commonplace. When applied, Lusin® Protect G31 appears as a white layer that provides up to 12 months of protection. While applicable to any industry in which machinery would be subject to corrosion, Chem-Trend is focusing its marketing efforts initially on the global plastic industry.
