High Quality Mould Release Agents for the Rubber IndustryChem-Trend at the IRC 2009 in Nuremberg, Hall 12, stand 12-430 Maisach, 25 May 2009 – At the International Rubber Conference 2009 in Nuremberg, Germany from 29 June to 2 July 2009, Chem-Trend will present its comprehensive portfolio of conventional and semi permanent Mono-Coat® and Perma-Mold® branded mould release agents. In addition, Chem-Trend will show its ancillary products such as mould cleaners and spray equipment for the rubber industry. Chem-Trend’s focal point at this year’s IRC will be the newly developed water based mould release agents for complex rubber compounds as used for example for cylinder-head, hydraulic-oil, and gearbox seals, as well as in rubber to metal bonded components used in automotive NVH solutions. The central points of Chem-Trend’s new product developments are the increase of productivity as a result of reduced consumption of release agents, significantly lower scrap rates, as well as longer mould operating life due to reduced mould contamination. "The development of continuously more complex rubber compounds for use in specialized applications necessitate a constant advancement in the development of mould release agents in order to ensure their compatibility with the rubber compounds in question", said Wolfgang Bartel, European product manager for the rubber industry segment, Chem-Trend Germany. In addition to the growing demands on the mechanical properties of rubber compounds, production standard requirements are increasing, resulting in lower fault-tolerance levels and shorter production cycles. The changed production parameters, such as higher process temperatures and moulding pressures, also pose a challenge for the development of mould release agents. High quality mould release agents carefully selected to match the specific process not only help to easily separate the moulded products from their moulds, but can also help to protect the mould and enable the moulding compound to quickly and evenly flow and fill the mould.
