New generation Mono-Lube® water-based outside tire paints and the new industry “standard” in terms of finished tire appearance, dry time and reduced mold fouling

Chem-Trend’s dedicated tire product development team has created a range of improved water-based outside paints specifically developed to meet the increased demands of the modern tire industry for improved tire appearance, faster dry time and reduced mold fouling with minimum impact on rubber-to-rubber adhesion. These new generation products, from the Mono-Lube® 6000 series, are being eagerly adopted by the world’s tire companies.

Before developing these new outside tire paints, Chem-Trend sought inputs from the “wish-lists” of several tire companies and from its extensive global sales and technical support teams. These lists were then compiled into one list of objectives for the tire product development team to meet. New test methods were developed to help measure cured appearance and the impact on mold fouling. After almost 18 months of development and optimization the new products have been prepared for field-testing; without exception every one of the initial field trials show each of the objectives have been met. The new generation products are amongst the fastest drying water based outside paints available, they allow the use of lower coating weights and provide an excellent cured tire appearance along with significantly reduced mold fouling.
