Chem-Trend’s New Mono-Coat® Product Provides Greater Durability, Reducing Manufacturing Downtime

Howell, Mich., August 19, 2009 - Chem-Trend, a global manufacturer of release agents and other process chemical specialties, announced today that it has launched an addition to its industry-leading Mono-Coat® brand of semi-permanent mould release products.

The new water-based product was engineered for the NVH industry, addressing the industry’s desire for increased mould release durability. Increased durability means more parts can be produced between applications, resulting in less down time for manufacturers. Early benchmarking of the new Mono-Coat® product has shown notable improvement over competitive products, markedly increasing the number of releases obtained before reapplication is necessary.

In keeping with the core philosophy of integrating its products with customer needs, Chem-Trend focused on performance attributes important to customer process parameters in developing the new NVH product.  Besides improved durability, the spray-applied Mono-Coat® product provides additional benefits to manufacturers, such as reduced mould fouling, improved release ease, better rubber flow, and almost zero transfer to the moulded part.  The early benchmarking studies showed advancement against competitive products in these attribute areas as well.  The advantages offered by this new product also make it an excellent option for other rubber moulding operations aside from NVH.
