Supporting Thermoplastic Compounding Operations around the Globe
Thermoplastic compounding is a process of refining plastics to the characteristic profiles required for the parts that are to be made. The refinement of the plastics is performed through the addition of specific additives (fillers, etc.) to achieve the targeted optimization. Compounding takes place predominantly in extruders (co-rotating twin-screw extruders primarily, but counter-rotating twin screw extruders and kneaders may also be used in the process) and includes operations of; conveying, melting, dispersing, mixing, degassing and pressure buildup.
At Chem-Trend, we spend a lot of time on the shop floor with our customers. This provides us with a very direct understanding of the challenges that they face, and the problems that they need to solve day in and day out. Our people spend a lot of time in the facilities of a wide range of thermoplastic processors and compounders throughout the world. They see the diversity of raw materials, additives, equipment and processes utilized to ultimately produce items made from thermoplastics. That knowledge is the basis for the unique, robust, formulated products we developed to serve as purging compounds , cleaners and protective products that will improve the your compounding process. Watch these videos for more regarding our purge compounds, cleaners and protective agents.
The impact of the process aids that we develop has is on both on the efficiency of our customer’s process and the quality of their end products. The more than five decade long history of the Lusin® brand of thermoplastic products has always been focused on solving the production problems faced by our customers around the globe.
