Polyurethane
High Resiliency/Flexible Foam
Chem-Trend
is the global leader in supplying release agents for the molded
flexible, visco-elastic, and high-resiliency (HR) MDI, TDI, and
TDI/MDI polyurethane systems for low- to high-density automotive
and non-automotive foam markets. Chem-Trend's release agents
provide excellent release ease, superior part finish, extremely
low buildup, and process robustness over a wide molding temperature
range. Product offerings also include release agents that reduce
the noise inside the automobile (anti-squeak), give controlled open
or closed surfaces, and provide surfaces for post-molding bonding
to the molded part. To complete a full range of products, Chem-Trend's
mold prep/conditioner paste waxes are available to further increase
productivity and reduce downtime.
Sound Insulation/Polyurethane Backed Foam
Chem-Trend
offers products that meet the needs of our customers' manufacturing,
environmental and safety requirements. Parts made with our products
give uniform, open-cell surfaces with little skin formation - key
in promoting maximum sound absorption.
Rigid Foams
Chem-Trend
offers environmentally friendly release agents for a variety of
rigid molding applications, including automotive energy-absorbing
components, rigid foam board insulation, taxidermy, flowerpots,
and decorative architectural moldings. These products provide excellent
release and create uniform foam surfaces that enhance other post-molding
operations, such as painting or bonding to other substrates.
Energy Absorbing Foams
We provide release
agents for the Energy Absorbing Foam industry that give excellent
release ease, superior part finish/appearance, extremely low buildup
and bondability for downstream sub-assembly processes. Chem-Trend
custom formulates both water-based and solvent-based release agents
to each customer's specific needs.
Shoe Soles (FOOTWEAR)
Chem-Trend
offers a wide range of products for both polyether and polyester
footwear applications. Our products can be used with current shoe
sole finishing processes, or they can be used to impart a finished
appearance directly from the mold. From single-density unit soles
to dual-density and direct-attach processes, we have the knowledge
and expertise to formulate a release chemistry tailored to each
customer's specific production requirements.
Integral Skin
Chem-Trend
offers products to the integral skin market that meet our customers'
manufacturing, environmental and safety requirements. The products
can be used with or without in-mold paints. In addition, we offer
products with low-gloss as well as high-gloss capabilities. All
of our products have good release performance that reduces sticking
in the injection ports and vent holes of the molds.
RIM/RRIM/SRIM
Chem-Trend
products are compatible with internal release agents. In addition,
parts made with our products give minimal surface defects and can
be washed, for post-painting operations.
Window Encapsulation
Depending on
the desired end-product appearance required, Chem-Trend has
release agents that impart low-gloss or high-gloss finishes, along
with uniform, defect-free surfaces. In most cases, parts can be
washed for bonding to metal substrates or other post-molding operations.
ISO Binder
Chem-Trend
provides environmentally friendly release agents for processes
that involve the binding of other materials, such as wood fibers,
agricultural waste by-products, reclaimed crumb rubber from used
tires, and cotton fibers or shoddy padding with MDI binders. The
release agent is applied onto mold surfaces and forming platens,
typically with a spray gun. Other methods, such as roll coating
and/or swabbing can be employed.
Polyurethane Mold Cleaners
Chem-Trend
mold cleaners are specially formulated to remove polyurethane residue,
waxes, silicones, contaminants, and oils that build up on the molding
surfaces over time. These mold cleaners contain combinations of
powerful stripping agents that attack resinous buildup, removing
most common thermoset and thermoplastic debris from the mold surfaces
and rejuvenating the surfaces of plastic, steel, or aluminum molds.
